Spend a relaxed morning learning the art of dot mandala painting. Steeped in tradition, this beginners dot mandala session will introduce you to the basics of dot mandala design. Run in Cumnor, Oxford.

Description

Spend a relaxed morning learning the art of dot mandala painting. Known for its association with meditation and mindfulness this dot mandala session will introduce you to creating simple dot mandala patterns on mini canvases.

After a short introduction to the workshop, you will choose your colours to paint your mandalas. You will then have a demonstration on how to use the tools to make perfect round dots from which you will build a simple mandala design. After some time practising the dotting techniques, you will be ready to create your own dot mandalas on paper and up to two mini canvases to take home.

With small numbers, and plenty of guidance from the tutor, this workshop aims to provide a relaxed and enjoyable introduction to the art of dot mandala painting, and is recommended for those who have never painted dot mandalas before.

How to get there:

Cumnor United Reformed Church is about 100 yards into Leys Road at the west end of High Street.

By car

From the A34 at the Botley interchange take the A420 south signposted Swindon and then the second exit on the A420 to Cumnor after about two miles. At the end of the slip road turn right, then in a few yards turn right again at the T-junction onto the B4017, going over the A420 and left into Cumnor village.

Enter the one-way system past the Vine pub and continue into High Street with St Michael’s Church on your left. Go over the mini-roundabout taking the right fork; after three hundred yards there is a sign pointing to the United Reformed Church. Turn left from High Street into Leys Road – the Village Hall is on the corner. You will then see the church on the right-hand side of the road.

There are a limited number of parking spaces outside the church. Alternatively, there is a small car park behind the Old School in Cumnor behind the village shop.

Access to the hall is at the side of the church.

By bus

The nearest bus stop is Kenilworth Road. The hall is a 11 minute walk from the bus stop.
